The Rev. Ronald C. Oliver, Ph.D., BCC
Ron Oliver serves as vice president, Mission and Outreach. He joined Norton Healthcare as a chaplain resident in 1989, and in 1993 became a staff chaplain for the pediatric intensive care unit of Kosair Children’s Hospital. He was named director of the Pastoral Care Department in 2002 and subsequently was promoted to division director, then associate vice president of the department. Oliver was named vice president, Mission and Outreach, in November 2009. He is a frequent speaker on grief, theodicy and self-care and has published several peer-reviewed articles. He earned a Ph.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. His doctoral dissertation, “Effects of an Acute Traumatic Crisis on Faith,” is the basis for the Kosair Children’s Hospital Bereavement Intervention Program. Oliver is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and is a board-certified chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains. In his spare time, Oliver enjoys working on home construction projects and spending time with his wife, Joyce, and their two teenage sons.

The Rev. Tom Bloxam, D. Min.
Tom Bloxam has served as a chaplain at Norton Audubon Hospital since 1997. Prior to that he was a pastoral therapist at St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center for 20 years and served as a pastor in Seattle, Wash., Dublin, Texas, and Ann Arbor, Mich. He holds a bachelor’s degree in administration from California Baptist College, Riverside, Calif., a Master of Theology degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas; and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. Bloxam and his wife, Sue, have five children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

The Rev. Keitha Brasler, M.Div.
Keitha Brasler has served as a staff chaplain at Norton Audubon Hospital since November 1998. Prior to coming to Norton Healthcare, she was a chaplain and administrator at Hazelwood Center ICF/MR nursing home facility. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spalding University and a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. Brasler has three adult sons and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and leading Bible study for developmentally disabled adults at her church.

 

The Rev. Mary Burks-Price, M.Div.
Mary Burks-Price is director of the Norton Healthcare Clinical Pastoral Education program, which trains ministers in the caring art. Burks-Price joined the Norton Healthcare pastoral care staff in 1994 from Baptist Hospital East, where she was oncology chaplain for five years. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees in counseling and guidance from the University of Montevallo in Alabama, and her Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. She is an ordained Baptist minister and a certified Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Supervisor. Burks-Price has two children who are college students. She enjoys reading, gardening, running and biking.

Fr. Expedito Muwonge, B.A., Dipl.Phil.
Expedito Muwonge was born and raised in Uganda, East Africa. He entered the seminary in Kenya, where he trained for the priesthood for seven years. He finished his seminary studies at Hekima College Jesuit School of Theology in June 1989, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in theology and a diploma in philosophy. Muwonge was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in August 1989. He came to the United States in May 1999. After serving in the Fort Wayne, Ind., diocese for two years, he trained and served as a chaplain at St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Scholastica Benedictine Sisters’ Monastery in Duluth, Minn. He joined Norton Healthcare in June 2003 as its first full-time Catholic priest chaplain. Muwonge serves patients, staff and families at Norton Hospital and Norton Suburban Hospital.

The Rev. Rick Forest, M.Div., CT
Rick Forest is a chaplain at Kosair Children’s Hospital and coordinator of the Pediatric Bereavement Care Program and the GriefCare Information Center. He travels throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana providing support to families grieving the loss of a child. Forest joined Norton Healthcare in 2003 following an internship and residency at Norton Hospital in 2001and 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Richmond, Va., and is certified in thanatology by the Association for Death Education and Counseling. An ordained Baptist minister, he is pastor of Bewleyville Baptist Church in Breckenridge County, Ky. He and his wife, Jo, have two cats. Forest enjoys reading, jazz music and golf.

The Rev. Amy McClain, M.Div.
Amy McClain has been the chaplain for Norton Women’s Pavilion at Norton Suburban Hospital since June 2004. She also serves as a facilitator for the Consoling Parents bereavement support group. McClain holds a Master of Divinity degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science degree in foreign service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. McClain is ordained within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Before attending seminary, she worked for 20 years for not-for-profit organizations in the areas of funds development, marketing, strategic planning and board development. She and her husband, the Rev. Richard McClain, have two teenage daughters and three dogs. They are members of Covenant Community Church in Louisville.

The Rev. Yvonne D. McCoy, M.Div.
Yvonne McCoy joined Norton Healthcare in 2007 after serving as a chaplain intern and resident at Kosair Children’s Hospital and Norton Hospital. She currently serves at Norton Suburban Hospital primarily in the intensive care unit, critical care unit and emergency department. McCoy holds a Master of Divinity degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is an ordained minister and serves as associate minister at Canaan Christian Church. McCoy’s passion is holistic healing and her mission is to be a primary conduit for healing and restoration of the whole person, by living and sharing principles that result in the unity of the mind, body, soul and spirit. McCoy and her husband, Bill, have seven grown children, 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Skye Murray, M.Div., BCC
Skye Murray has served as the pediatric intensive care unit chaplain at Kosair Children’s Hospital since 2006. She attended the University of Evansville in Indiana and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. Before joining Norton Healthcare, she was a chaplain resident at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, and worked with at-risk youth in Colorado Springs. Murray is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the chair of the Presbytery Council of the Mid-Kentucky Presbytery. She enjoys gardening with her husband, Ben Albers, and promoting more sustainable communities.

Shannon Queenan, MPS, NACC Cert.
Shannon Queenan is certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. She serves as chaplain for the Cancer Care and Renal Center at Kosair Children’s Hospital, where she provides support for patients, family and staff. Queenan became a pediatric chaplain after spending more than 20 years as a youth minister. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Louisville and a Master of Pastoral Studies degree from Loyola University in Chicago. Queenan is a native of Louisville and enjoys spending time with her large extended family. She and her husband, Don Pitts, love to ride motorcycles, travel and play with their granddaughter.

The Rev. Whit Stodghill, M.Div., BCC
Whit Stodghill is a chaplain for Norton Hospital. She was the second woman ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. She joined Norton Healthcare in 2001 after 17 years in parish ministry. She also has been a radio announcer, a school teacher and coach, and a hotel worker. Stodghill was educated at the University of Michigan, where she played varsity tennis, and at Yale Divinity School, where she completed her master’s degree in divinity. She and her son, Lloyd, enjoy practicing Tae Kwon Do, in which both have black belts.

 

The Rev. Joel Sturtevant, D.Min.
Joel Sturtevant is the Reverend Doctor William J. Schultz Community Service Chaplain for Norton Healthcare. He provides pastoral care to Norton Physician Services patients. Sturtevant joined Norton Healthcare in 1997 and has served as chaplain at Kosair Children’s Hospital, Norton Spring View Hospital and Norton Southwest Hospital. Prior to coming to Norton Healthcare, he served as a parish pastor for 20 years. Sturtevant holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two adult sons and two grandchildren. His hobbies include backpacking, running and woodworking.

Fr. Conrad Sutter, OFM Conv.
Conrad Sutter is a Catholic chaplain for Norton Healthcare’s hospitals, where he provides pastoral care to patients and staff. A Franciscan friar, Sutter professed his Solemn Vows to the Franciscan community in 1966 as a Franciscan brother and was ordained to the priesthood in 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo., and a master’s degree in theology from the Franciscan Study Center in Canterbury, England. Sutter resides at Mt. St. Francis Center for Spirituality in Mt. St. Francis, Ind., and does spiritual direction in his free time. He has a cockatoo that talks and he raises zebra finches. He also enjoys nature walks and painting with oils and watercolors.

The Rev. Terry Tatro, M.Div., BCC
Terry Tatro serves as staff chaplain on the medical/surgical and oncology units at Norton Suburban Hospital. He joined Norton Healthcare in 1997 as the first full-time pediatric oncology staff chaplain at Kosair Children's Hospital. An ordained Baptist minister, he has pastored churches in Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan. Prior to state-side ministry, he served as a missionary in Equatorial Guinea, Central West Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. Tatro and his wife, Kris, have three daughters. He enjoys running, bicycling and boating.

The Rev. Kelley M. Woggon, M.Div., BCC
Kelley Woggon is manager of Norton Healthcare’s Pastoral Care Department and the Norton Hospital Palliative Care team. She also serves as a chaplain at Norton Hospital, where she works with oncology patients. Woggon earned her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., and her Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville in 1990. She and her husband, Frank, have two daughters. Her hobbies include walking and teaching about the labyrinth, biking, handiwork around the house and watching her girls play volleyball.

The Rev. Ann A. Letson, M.Div.
Ann A. Letson is Clinical Pastoral Education Manager for Norton Healthcare. In this role she supervises CPE students training in all Norton Healthcare hospitals. Letson did her early training at Norton Healthcare then left Louisville in 1993 to become associate director of pastoral care at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in South Carolina. She then served as faculty supervisor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., before returning to Norton Healthcare in June 2003. She is certified as an ACPE Supervisor by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Letson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Spalding University and is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She is an ordained Presbyterian minister. She and her husband, Kenneth, have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. Her hobbies are quilting, reading the work of women mystery writers and spending time with the family’s dogs.

The Rev. Jacqueline Hope Derby, M.Div.
Jacqueline Hope Derby began working as a chaplain in the Kosair Children’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit in October 2009. She previously served University of North Carolina Hospitals, Carolina Donor Services, VITAS Hospice and the Colon Cancer Alliance. A graduate of Duke Divinity School, Derby completed a residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago in conjunction with the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County. She is a doctor of ministry candidate at Barry University in Miami, Fla. She and her husband, David Weller, have an English springer spaniel. In her free time she enjoys mountain biking, photography and cooking.

The Rev. Kerry Wentworth, M.Div., BCC
Kerry Wentworth serves as a chaplain at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He joined Norton Healthcare in 2004, serving as a chaplain at Norton Hospital. He also serves as a U.S. Air Force chaplain with the Kentucky Air National Guard. Wentworth has pastored churches in Michigan, West Virginia and Kentucky. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from McKendree College and a Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Wentworth has received endorsements as a health care chaplain and a military chaplain from the Church of the Nazarene and is board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains. He and his wife, Karen, have a daughter, Kaleesha, and a son Kaleb.
