Poison Center Professional Education

The Kentucky Regional Poison Center at Kosair Children's Hospital, part of Norton Healthcare, has developed an educational series to offer AMA PRA Category 1TM  credits for physicians, and continuing education credits (CEUs) for nurses and pharmacists.

This allows for online review of educational materials and receipt of CE credits. The offerings also are available for review and as a resource for those who do not wish to receive continuing education credits. No personal information will be required for those who would like to review the information or use it as a resource. There is no fee for any of our courses.

Process

  • Select the course(s) you wish to take online. Each course is approximately one hour in length. No partial credit may be given.
  • All new registrants are required to complete all fields in the registration form. If you have previously registered, supplying your e-mail address and a previously chosen password will allow for rapid registration.
  • Review the material and complete the education selection. A bibliography of additional resources is available for your reference. Also, the material is available to download and review off line if you prefer.
  • If you would like to apply for continuing education credits, complete the test. All questions must be answered before submitting a test. Your score will be tallied automatically and assessed for a score of 85 percent or greater. Functionality allows you to go back and retake the questions you missed.
  • Complete the evaluation of the course. Submit to the provider based on your profession.
  • Print your certificate. (If a printer is unavailable, a certificate can be mailed to you within two weeks by contacting the appropriate continuing education provider.)
